Transitions

This year has invited profound change - I moved to Boston after commuting from Brooklyn for years, and accepted an offer to take on the Interim Artistic Directorship of the Department of Theatre and Theatre Studies at Wellesley College, as well as the Artistic Directorship of the Wellesley Repertory Theatre beginning next academic year/season.  I will devote this summer to dreaming, planning, and reaching out to future collaborators, reading plays, planning future seasons and resting. (Even if I have to schedule it in! I'm not good at resting.) These past weeks and months have been focused not only on planning this transition - taking over from the indominable Nora Hussey after her 28 years here - but also on celebrating Nora in ways private and very (weepily!) public. Wishing all fantastic summers.  Come play with me in Boston, my lovelies!!  

THE LIAR is a critical SMASH!

Thanks to the Boston theatre community for kicking off this production with sold out shows and so many belly laughs! When people come out of the theatre and complain that their faces hurt from smiling, we're doing something right. Now...y'all know that our cast has had some sickness, right? Y'all know that I had to grab a script, throw on a dress and jump onstage to finish the run, right? Live theatre, folks! The show must go on, and this show, with all its unpredictability, went on gloriously! I couldn't be more proud.  I already miss it immensely.
